It is true that we can’t fix ourselves
by breaking someone else,
but we can definitely advance civilization
by critically breaking a thinking person’s
illogical and dangerous ideas and thoughts.
We can forgive a person out of kindness,
but we must not let go of his thoughts
because defective thoughts in history has
already resulted in serious consequences
and created evils on a higher level.
Moreover, we have no right to forgive a
person’s evil on other people’s behalf.
Whether that person wants to grow or not,
whether he wants to fix the cracks in
his ideas and thoughts or not, remains,
of course, his personal freedom of choice.
( Jason Ling )

Truth does not do so much good in the world
as the appearance of it does evil.
( Duc Francois de la Rochefoucauld )
你不需要在真理面前謙卑,你只要對我謙虛就可以了;
你不需要對別人有誠信,你只要對我有誠信就可以了;
No vice exists which does not pretend
to be more or less like some virtue
and which does not take advantage of
this assumed resemblance.

When I was young, I used to admire kind people;
as I grow older, I admire wise people because
wise people concern themselves with the kindness
of the whole system whereas kind people without
wisdom tend to be selfish and self-righteous.
They have a tendency to forgive the misdeeds
of their friends and even condone the violence
of an evil system and then justify themselves
shamelessly. Yes, there are kind, sanctimonious,
and yet fuzzy-minded bigots.
Yes, hypocritic kindness do exist!
( Jason Ling )
All that we are is the result
of what we have thought.
The mind is everything.
What we think we become.
( Buddha )
Yes, you are kind but what you say is not true.
Watch your beliefs and thoughts carefully for they
will induce foolishness, usually at an intermediate
level, thereby slowly transforming your character
and making your kindness hypocritic.
No act of hypocrisy, however small, is ever neglected.
( Jason Ling )
Nothing is hidden so much that
it wouldn’t be revealed through its fruit.
( Paracelsus )

Intelligent hypocrisy
半取半捨半行善、半聾半啞半糊塗、半智半愚半聖賢;
You are the light of the world.
Your hypocrisy must be securely hidden
not only before others but also from yourself,
that they may not detect the tinge of darkness
in the seemingly shining light of your fame
and doubt the intentional tolerance of hypocrisy
by your heavenly Father.
You will be glorified by your collaborators
because all of them will wish they had
the courage and intelligence to do the same.
( Jason Ling )
Men do not accept their prophets and slay them,
but they love their martyrs and
worship those whom they have tortured to death.
( Fyodor Dostoevsky )
Hell is Truth Seen Too Late.
( Thomas Hobbes )
For truth is always strange; stranger than fiction.
( Lord Byron )
It is useless to tell one not to reason but to believe
──you might as well tell a man not to wake but sleep.
( Lord Byron )
Nothing ever goes away until
it teaches us what we need to know.
( Pema Chodron )
Truths and roses have thorns about them.
( Henry David Thoreau )
In order to be effective
truth must penetrate like an arrow
──and that is likely to hurt.
( Wei Wu Wei )
Words that wound the fools are words
that heal the open-minded people,
and may even heal the world.
( Jason Ling )
If people would dare to speak
to one another unreservedly,
there would be a good deal less sorrow
in the world a hundred years hence.
( Samuel Butler )
