我們常常見到一般人只懂得注意經濟和生活，
怕健康體力下降，怕失業，怕交際時話題落伍，
但卻不怕思考能力下降，追不上時代的需要。
一般人終身學習，往往是被環境所迫的，
而且學習的範疇，往往是和自己的職業有關。
其實終身學習是一種態度，是一種精神，
如果沒有終身學習的精神，終身學習的路途就難以順利。
其實終身學習的精神部份來自批判的精神，
而一般「自我學習」的訓練，都會接觸到終身學習的精神：
1. 天真和好學
腦子裡永遠有很多問題要問，
即使年齡大了亦保留老頑童的心態。

2. 重視「真」和「誠」
所謂「真」和「誠」，最起碼就是清楚自己的所知，
及所知的知識的應用範疇 range of application ，
亦清楚自己的無知的地方。
即使立心不良，意圖「做假」來行騙，
但在追求「做假」的學問過程之中，
亦絕對重視「真」和「誠」。
在某一時空重視「真」和「誠」，
當然並不表示熱愛「真」和「誠」。
3. 懂得對真理謙卑 humility
驚覺學問和智慧之無窮和人生之有限。

4. 尊重心靈的興趣，並且努力不懈
人類的好奇心和心靈的興趣，從來都是學習的最大動力！
人一旦懶惰，懶於思考和學習，半生人就會浪費了。

中學或大學畢業，只不過是人生中的一個起步點，
終身學習，才是我們的人生目標。
