God is day and night, winter and summer,
war and peace, surfeit and hunger.
( Heraclitus )
It is the greatest of all disciplines
to know one-self,
for when a man knows himself, he knows God.
( Clement of Alexandria )
I looked in temples, churches, and mosques.
But I found the Divine within my heart.
( Rumi )
The knower and the known are one.
Simple people imagine that they should see God
as if he stood there and they here.
This is not so.
God and I, we are one in knowledge.
( Meister Eckhart )
We are not human beings on a spiritual journey.
We are spiritual beings on a human journey.
( Stephen R. Covey )

Your daily life is your temple and your religion.
Whenever you enter into it, take with you your all.
( Kahlil Gibran )
I will not let you (or me) make me dishonest,
insincere, emotionally tied-up or constricted,
or artificially nice and social, if I can help it.
( Eugene Gendlin )
We purchase freedom at the cost of security…
and critical awareness at the cost of our peace of mind.
( Bryan Magee )
If there is no struggle there is no progress.
Those who profess to favor freedom,
and yet deprecate agitation, are men
who want crops without plowing up the ground.
They want rain without thunder and lightning.
They want the ocean
without the awful roar of its many waters.
( Frederick Douglass, West India Emancipation Speech,
August 4, 1857 )
生命在乎經歷、體驗、在乎思考和學習、在乎智慧和心靈的成長;
不在乎擁有 to have,
Accept ─ then act.
Whatever the present moment contains,
accept it as you haven chosen it.
Always work with it, not against it …
This will miraculously transform your whole life.
( Eckhart Tolle )
I have crossed the seas,
I have left cities behind me, and I have followed
the source of rivers towards their source or
plunged into forests, always making for other cities.
I have had women, I have fought with men;
and I could never turn back
any more than a record can spin in reverse.
And all that was leading me where?
To this very moment…
( Jean-Paul Sartre, Nausea )
