The desire to fly is an idea handed down
to us by our ancestors who…looked enviously
on the birds soaring freely through space…
on the infinite highway of the air.
( Wilbur Wright )
There is always space for improvement,
no matter how long you’ve been in the business.
( Oscar De La Hoya )
Space has always been the spiritual dimension
of architecture. It is not the physical statement
of the structure so much as what it contains
that moves us.
( Arthur Erickson )
The characteristic of great innovators and
great companies is they see a space that
others do not. They don’t just listen to
what people tell them;
they actually invent something new,
something that you didn’t know you needed,
but the moment you see it,
you say, ‘I must have it.’
( Eric Schmidt )
True music must repeat the thought and
inspirations of the people and the time.
( George Gershwin )
There are more love songs than anything else.
If songs could make you do something
we’d all love one another.
( Frank Zappa )
Composers shouldn’t think too much ─
it interferes with their plagiarism.
( Howard Dietz )
Music should strike fire from the heart of man,
and bring tears form the eyes of woman.
( Ludwig van Beethoven )
Without [good] music life would be a mistake.
( Friedrich Nietzsche )
Too many pieces of music finish too long
after the end.
( Igor Stravinsky )
It requires wisdom to understand wisdom:
the music is nothing if the audience is deaf.
( Walter Lippmann )
One must always distinguish
between natural sound and unnatural noise,
between merely sound and good music.
( Jason Ling )
Only sick music makes money today.
( Friedrich Nietzsche, in 1888 )
Hell is full of musical amateurs.
( George Bernard Shaw )
